About us
Santa Claus Golf course is located on the northern slopes of Ounasvaara, just a few minutes away from the center of Rovaniemi. The original nine holes of the course were designed by Pekka Sivula, and the expansion to 18 holes was designed by Lassi Pekka Tilander. Our course has been ranked among the most pleasant golf courses in Finland for several years.
The untouched nature of Ounasvaara creates an incredibly relaxing golf experience. The course, with its northern character, offers both challenges and stunning views of the river valley and neighboring fells with its elevation changes. The fairways, winding through pine-dominated hill landscapes, are highly varied, and despite the elevation differences, the course is not too demanding to play. You’ll often find reindeer casually walking alongside as your playing companions. The target time for a round is 4 hours and 15 minutes.
The course is open from May to October. The midnight sun illuminates the course day and night from June 6th to July 7th. During June and July, golf can be played around the clock.
Our kiosk, ranked as the best in Finland, offers traditional snacks as well as northern delicacies. You can easily finish your round after enjoying treats such as reindeer sausage, salmon sandwiches, or pancakes with savory or sweet fillings. The kiosk also serves alcoholic beverages.
